The GNU Fun Guy is an aggressive all mountain/free ride snowboard. It’s directional so you’ll have to think a little more if you find yourself riding switch.
The board itself is shorter and a bit wider. This gives it a bit more surface area, and that helps with deep powder riding. It’s also got a big floaty nose, I’m sure it’s got some technology or reason for that build. I couldn’t get a good feel for it though. It might’ve been due to a lack of powder though.
GNU Fun Guy Overall Rankings:
- Deep Powder: 4.5
- Turning Feel: 4
- Carving Experience: 3.5
- Speed: 4
- Switch Riding: 3
- Pipe: 3
- Jibbing: 3
Aggregate Score: 3.57
It’s no surprise that the GNU Fun Guy doesn’t score well in the park. However the stats it carries for the back country more than make up for that. If you love riding into the unknown on a fresh powder day. Make sure you have this board with you.
- Terrain Types: Resort/Back Country
- Rider Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced
- Flex Scale: Medium/Stiff
- CAMBER: Correct Camber (What Is This?)
When you head into the back country, make sure you have all the safety gear you need, but also have a board you can trust, that’ll get you out of any situations.
I honestly believe this board is an epic back country powder board. It’s great in the trees, and have some epic playful pop that you’ll love. Heck it’ll even help you tear up a resort if you really wanna do it. Just remember the birth right of the GNU Fun Guy is the back country. Just like yours is.
Shred in style.
