GNU Whip Women’s Snowboard Review

The GNU whip is a high end all mountain snowboard. It finds its home mostly in remote areas of resorts and tearing apart back country areas. It’s smooth, aggressive, and is most excellent.

The snowboard itself is directional, that will give you some difficulty with switch riding. Keep in mind I say it’ll be difficult but not impossible. However when you’re riding through the trees cutting through powder like a hot knife through butter…

…will you even care?

Overall, it’s a stiff board that can rip at high speeds, and it cuts through powder. This board is specifically designed specifically for women to tear up the slopes, and it does that well.

Our rankings are all done by opinion. So if you have an experience you’d like to share. Please comment below.

I don’t recommend using stiffer snowboards in the park, however if that’s your preference, tear it up.

GNU Whip Overall Rankings

  • Deep Powder: 4
  • Turning Feel: 4.5
  • Carving Experience: 4.5
  • Speed: 4.5
  • Switch Riding: 3
  • Pipe: 3
  • Jibbing: 3

Aggregate Score: 3.79

As you can see, in the back country categories, this snowboard is a dream. When you take the GNU whip out, it’ll be an experience for the both of you. You’ll never wanna leave the mountain.

For pipe and jibbing I scored the board a bit lower, that doesn’t mean it’s awful by any means. It’s not what the board is made for. If you can take the Whip into the park and ride it hard. By all means do so. This is just an opinion, and I hope it helps you on your way.

Overall Snowboard Review:

  • Flex Scale: Medium/Stiff
  • MAGNE-TRACTION: YES!!!
  • Correct Camber: Aggression/Control/Precision/Power

I’d recommend pairing this snowboard up with an awesome pair of bindings. Ride, Union, or Burton all have some great pairings for this snowboard. Burton might be a bit more pricy, but check them all out. You’ll learn something new in the process. Feel free to check out our binding guide for more information as well.
